Yami Gautam Details Her Character Mohini in Upcoming Fantasy Film Nayyi Navelli

Yami Gautam is set to star in the upcoming family entertainer Nayyi Navelli, where she will play a character named Mohini. The project marks the actor's exploration of the fantasy genre, combining magic, humour, action, and emotion.

Speaking about the role, Yami highlighted Mohini's contrasting personality, noting that she connected with the character's warmth and familiarity while also enjoying her unpredictable nature. "What I really connected with was her warmth... But at the same time, there's a certain mystery and mischief to her, and you never quite know what she's going to do next," she stated.

The actor credited director Balaji Mohan for helping her navigate the demands of the role and achieve a balance between Mohini's different traits. Significant attention was also given to the character's appearance, including traditional jewellery, costumes, and everyday styling, to keep her grounded despite the larger-than-life fantasy setting.

Nayyi Navelli is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the Colour Yellow banner, in association with Amazon MGM Studios. The film is written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, directed by Balaji Mohan, and scheduled to release in theatres on October 16.
