Yami Gautam Dhar Discusses Her Playful and Comedic Role in Nayyi Navelli

Yami Gautam Dhar is set to star in Nayyi Navelli, an upcoming fantasy family entertainer directed by Balaji Mohan. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16 and is backed by Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Productions.

In the film, Yami plays Mohini, a newly married woman joining a chaotic household in Meerut. While her arrival initially brings peace and harmony, her seemingly perfect nature soon raises suspicions, leading her brother-in-law to wonder if she could be a daayan (witch).

Ahead of the release, Yami discussed stepping into the character of Mohini, stating that the role allowed her to explore a lighter, more spontaneous, and playful side of her personality. She highlighted the presence of comedy, mischief, and physicality in the character, which gave her the freedom to let go of control and respond to the moment.

The actor also praised the film's musical and dance sequences, crediting composer G V Prakash Kumar's music and Vijay Ganguly's choreography for helping her enjoy the experience and let loose. She further noted that Mohini's instinctive sense of humour relied on spontaneous reactions and unexpected moments.

The cast of Nayyi Navelli also includes Adinath Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha, and Sunita Rajwar.
