Reporting Live Movie Review: A Hard-Hitting Investigative Drama Tackling Illegal Sand Mining

REPORTING LIVE is an investigative drama directed by Dhruv Tripathi, starring Parineeti Chopra and Deven Bhojani.

The story follows Sandhya Yadav (Parineeti Chopra), a fearless reporter for the Mumbai-based news channel Azaad Bharati, and her cameraman and best friend Vinod Sharma (Deven Bhojani). Sandhya is sent to the village of Visargaon in Maharashtra to cover a bridge collapse where a school bus was involved, resulting in the deaths of 14 children. While villagers and a local minister claim the collapse was caused by a solar eclipse, locals Shiva (Amol Palekar) and Mangesh (Pitobash Tripathy) allege the disaster was due to government inaction caused by illegal sand mining in the region.

Sandhya and Vinod investigate the claims, facing threats from sand mafia goons while gathering evidence for their channel. Azaad Bharati heads Vidur Dutt (Adil Hussain) and Shyam (Shekhar Suman) air the exclusive report, prompting police arrests, though illegal activities soon resume and pressure mounts to pull the story down.

The film's story and screenplay are co-written by Mihir Jadhav and Dhruv Tripathi, and it is inspired by real events. The cast also features Pitobash Tripathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Prachee Shah Paandya, Samir Kochhar, Geeta Agarwal Sharma, Bhaskar Jha, and Nasser (R Velraj).
