Kaveri Seth Discusses Landing a Role in Dev Patel’s A24 Film The Peasant

Actress Kaveri Seth is set to appear in The Peasant, an upcoming period revenge-action thriller co-written and directed by Dev Patel. The project is Patel's second feature as a director following Monkey Man and adds to Seth's international filmography.

Reflecting on securing the role, Seth recalled auditioning without expectations after the project came her way through an audition. She noted that waiting several months to hear back made the eventual confirmation feel surreal. She also praised Patel's insightful notes during the process and his involvement on set, where he acts, co-writes, and directs.

The Peasant is produced under the A24 banner and features an international ensemble cast including Dev Patel, Christian Friedel, Sebastian Bull, Saurabh Sachdeva, Anasuya Sengupta, and Vipin Sharma.

Seth's previous credits include the feature film debut Gulmohar (2023), Mira Nair's adaptation of A Suitable Boy, Made in India: A Titan Story, and Perfect Family. Her background also includes lead roles on the American theatre stage with the Bay Area Drama Company and assisting Mira Nair.
